Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to receive my photos after my shoot?

Receiving your photos is an exciting time, and I have just as much excitement in trying to get them back to you promptly. I take my time editing each photo to ensure they are perfect for you and can expect to have them back in around 7 days.

How much time does each session take?

Each session is designed to last for approximately 1 hour. I do also offer Mini sessions for 30 minutes.

You can view them here.

Am I able to extend my session on the day of the photoshoot?

Yes. If you choose to have extended time on the day, this can be arranged. It will however depend on the weather and lighting (if outdoors) and will incur an additional cost.

When is the best time to have my photo shoot?

Mother nature has blessed us with perfect natural lighting, which is best in the mornings and the afternoons. Generally between 6:00am and 9:00am and 3:00-6:00pm, or one hour before sunset, depending on the season. Of course, you can choose to have your photoshoot any time that suits you.

What should I wear on my photoshoot?

It’s important for you to feel as comfortable as possible, so what you choose to wear is entirely up to you. I would recommend not wearing clothes that are too bold, have large prints, patterns or logos on them, as they don’t photograph well. Depending on your style (and your wardrobe), I would recommend wearing clothes with neutral colours. Each booking will receive a PDF style guide for you to download. If you need more guidance with what to wear, we can discuss this further in your phone consultation.

How does payment work?

Once your booking is confirmed, an invoice will be sent to you. Full payment is required prior to the session. Once you have received your images, you then have the option to purchase prints, canvases and photo books directly from your gallery. There is no obligation to purchase additional prints, it is there as an option. The price list for these are listed on the gallery site.

Do you have insurance?

Yes. Alice Lonergan Photography is a registered business and fully insured.

Are you vaccinated?

Yes. Your newborn’s health is paramount to me. As a mother of young children myself, I am fully vaccinated, including Flu and Whooping cough.

Do you have a Working With Children Check?

Yes. Your children’s safety is my main priority. Please contact me if you wish to view my WWCC.

When is the best time to have a maternity photo shoot?

This again would be what you are comfortable with. I would recommend that the best time to photograph whilst pregnant would be between 25-38 weeks gestation.

When is the best time to book a newborn photo shoot?

I recommend booking your photoshoot when you are in your 2nd trimester. It is best to photograph your newborn when they are between 3 and 14 days old, so booking in a session based on your due date is recommended. However, due to the unpredictability of when our little ones want to enter the world, we can work together to rearrange a date if your bub decides to arrive early/late.

How many people can I have in my photo shoot?

This will be based on the type of photoshoot you choose. Maternity shoots generally involve the mother, father and siblings. Family photoshoots are the immediate family. If you would like to add additional family members, this will incur an additional fee.
